Trouble with working memory, maintaining attention, or distractibility? Cogmed Working Memory Training can help. The Cogmed program is a psychological treatment for children, adolescents, and adults with working memory problems. It has been shown to help both children and adults with attention issues including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The five-week training program is designed to improve one's working memory capacity. In turn, your enhanced working memory has a significant positive impact on both attention and academic achievement.
Learning. At times, children do not do as well as expected in school. I can help to identify the reasons and provide recommendations to help improve their performance by conducting a Psychoeducational Assessment. Such assessments may also be appropriate for adolescents or adults in college or University if they are experiencing learning challenges.
Trauma. If you have experienced a traumatic event (i.e., sexual abuse, motor vehicle accident, war, a serious industrial accident, or other trauma), I have considerable experience helping people of all ages resolve the emotional impact of these events using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
Parenting. If you have separated and are having difficulty determining how best to meet your children’s needs, I can help you develop an effective parenting plan to meet your children’s best interests by conducting an appropriate assessment, such as a Custody and Access Evaluation.
